Our Zulu students have arrived in Johannesburg!

Our Zulu students have arrived in Johannesburg as part of the HU Zulu in South Africa (HUZISA) Study Abroad Program. This year our new instructor Sipho Sithole is leading the program which is a 6-week study abroad program for immersion in both the language and the culture of the Zulu people of South Africa.

Center for African Studies Announces Major Gift-In-Kind from Muck Rack to the HBCU-Africa Correspondents Corps

(Washington, DC) The Center for African Studies is pleased to announce a new educational partnership with Muck Rack, a public relations management (PRM) platform that enables organizations to build trust, tell their stories and demonstrate the earned value of earned media. This partnership is set to deliver a more comprehensive educational experience for the student journalists who are enrolled in the Historically Black Colleges and Universities -Africa Correspondents Corps (HBCU-ACC) Program.

Center for African Studies Executive Education Program Director Delivers Foreign Policy Planning Workshop to Mozambican Foreign Policy Leaders

(Washington, DC) On 8 April, the Program Director for the Executive Education Program of the Center for African Studies, Michael Walsh, delivered a half-day foreign policy planning workshop for a group of foreign policy leaders from Mozambique. 

HU World Languages Festival Highlights

The Department of World Languages and Cultures, led by chair, Dr. Leonard Muaka, hosted the World Languages Festival on Feb 14 and Feb 15 in Locke Hall. A variety of cultural activities by students were presented to showcase the different languages and cultures that are taught in the department.
