The  Assistant Director of the Center for African Studies, Dr. Phiwokuhle Mnyandu, gave a keynote address at the 16th Beijing Forum on African Development and China-Africa Cooperation held at the prestigious Peking University. This year's program centered heavily on the intersection between the Sustainable Development Goals and the Global Development Initiative, in the lead-up to the 2030 deadline for the latter. Speakers included leading multidisciplinary experts from Asia, Africa, western Europe, and the United States.

Africa-China Initiative Postdoctoral Fellowship

The Africa-China Initiative at the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University is pleased to partner with the Center for African Studies at Howard University to offer a one-year ACI Research Fellowship. The purpose of the ACI Fellowship is bring African scholarship, expertise, and perspectives on Africa-China (and more broadly, Africa-Asia and Global South) research to Georgetown and Howard faculty and students, research and policy centers, and government agencies in the Washington, DC area.

Jackson to speak with students from the College of Arts & Sciences, the Department of African Studies, the College of Fine Arts, and the School of Communications at her Black Feminist Theory course, which is one of the core courses within Howard University's Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program.
