In December 2022, Dr. Saïs Kamalidiin, Associate Professor of Music at Howard, led a group of Howard University musical artists and scholars from The Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts to Dakar, Senegal for a musical arts intensive featuring visits to all the centers of higher musical education located in Dakar, Senegal, with meetings with former Senegalese Minister of Culture, Youssou N'Dour and MacArthur Fellowship recipient, Tomeka Reid.
