About Kamissa Camara

Course Convenor, Ambassador Kamissa Camara is former Minister of Foreign Affairs in Mali, and is currently, a senior visiting expert for the Sahel at the U.S. Institute of Peace. Camara has written political analysis and has been a political commentator on CNN, Aljazeera, Voice of America, The Washington Post, France24, and RFI, among others. She holds a Master’s in International Economics and Development from Université Grenoble Alpes.

About the Course

This course aims to bring together a cohort of young scholars and practitioners interested and/or engaged in US–Africa policy to offer a practical understanding of current political, economic and security developments on the continent. Using a selection of contemporary case studies, course participants will engage around enduring challenges and constraints in US-Africa policy. The course will be moderated by scholar-practitioner Ambassador Kamissa Camara, former foreign minister of Mali. Guest speakers will include influential diplomats, policymakers and industry leaders.

Open to degree and non-degree students/participants.
