Dr. Mnyandu and Dr. Araujo speak at International Day of People of African Descent
To celebrate the International Day of People of African Descent, Hewlett Packard (HP) hosted two speakers to honor the contributions, culture and heritage of people of African descent worldwide.
HP thanks Howard University faculty, Dr. Phiwokuhle Mnyandu, who highlighted US-China-Africa relations and AI’s impact on African languages, and Dr. Ana Lucia Araujo who shared insights on the transatlantic slave trade, reparations and art history. It was profound to hear the incredible, unique global perspective shaped by the diverse history of the African Diaspora. An additional thank you goes to Ashley Marshall Warren who moderated the event. This was an opportunity to commemorate all people of African descent and honor their stories, celebrate achievements and deepen our understanding of history’s impact today.
