Freedom Summer Collegiate

Freedom Summer Collegiate is looking for doctoral students to design and teach advanced 4-week courses to high school students this June in Mississippi and Arkansas. This opportunity allows doctoral students to:

  • Design and lead a 4-week course on anything in their area of expertise.
  • Enjoy a summer teaching high school students in rural Mississippi or Arkansas.
  • Develop as a teacher through this teaching experience, our coaching, and collaboration with other graduate students.
  • Earn a stipend for their work, with housing provided.

Past participants of our program from Harvard, MIT, Duke, University of Rochester, Rutgers, and other universities have taught courses like Technology & identityThe Black Radical ImaginationThe Good Life,Science & DemocracyWorkers Rebellion, and The New World.
